    new bull

I sold this guy as a calf, the folks who had him kept a bunch of his heifers so they needed a new bull, I bought him back since he is not related to mine. I guess I will try him for a year. Registered Galloway what do you think? The photo stretches him some he is stocky in real life.

    galloway cattle

I agree with Blegen's having some of the best looking cattle. I have only seen their show cattle and a couple of photos of the herd stock but wow they are good cattle. I raise some Galloway and a few red and black angus, I would comment that on my extremely rough Montana pastures the Galloway...

    RB Tour of Duty 177

I hope to be able to tell you in the spring as I used him on my Black Angus cows and Red Angus cows if I hit the 70 percent that is possible I will have a few to look at. He is in the top 3 percent of the Angus breed.

USA: A Ground Beef Nation. Challenge for breeding programs?

There is a lot of truth in the article. First of all the average Joe can not afford a Prime steak at a steak house anymore at least not very often. Yet we continue to raise the animals as if they will end up center of plate at a high end steak house. In the long run it is unsustainable to...

    Normande Cattle

I had a small herd of Normande Cows 25 years ago about 20 head. They were good milking motherly cows and were very gentle except for one, and wow she was bad. I used a Black Angus bull and still got some spots but they grew faster than any other combo of cattle I have had since. I was very...

How will we feed a growing world?

A little bit of Irony: Those who consider themselves to be the most red of the red often are, were, the first to sign up for things like farm bills etc., that seems to me to quite blue in nature, some one mentioned wanting something for nothing? humph! The bottom line on food production is...

    what to do

Go with a Galloway bull they cross well and they are known for docility and you might as well make money on your hobby. I have a Galloway bull that I can walk right up to in the pasture and brush him if I want, yet he protects his cows from any threat.

    Jersey Bull calf

The most dangerous bull there is, is a Jersey and the most dangerous of that kind in a bottle fed one. He will be your buddy right up to the day he takes you, and as some one has noted there is no quit in them. They turn on you they will kill you. Cut him and eat him they do eat good.
