I remember that photo! You were on the four-wheeler, right? Seems like that was in there too...along with you tipping up a Mountain Dew to a calf.
My how time flies.
When I talk to other people about their jobs, I always feel thankful that I enjoy my job as much as I do. I just happen to love to be outside - to be cooped up in a classroom sometimes is pretty rough. With physical labor, you can look back and see the job that you've finished - with teaching...
Never got an allowance - I knew that I was expected to do things around home: working in tobacco, hauling hay, whatever.
My first paying job was at a nursery (the plants and trees kind) my sophomore year in high school - 4.25/hour. I worked there in springs and summers through high school...
From Wentworth & Flexner, Dictionary of American Slang, 1960 edition:
: "'Origin of term: the boss attended to the grain going into the thresher; the second-man watched after the straw coming out and hence had little to do.' H. F. Barker. Colloq. since c1900; orig. hobo use."
I'm pretty sure KY's requirements are similar. Got the DOT numbers, but just keeping the fingers crossed about the medical card and the safety inspection.
ranchwife, it's a little earlier than I said I'd be visiting, but this weekend sounds good for me! Oh, wait. I have to chaperone prom. Darn. Hmmm....maybe leave me penciled in for the first week of June, still. ;-)
Ditto what TnWI said. I've dealt with both. Frontpage is part of Microsoft Office (I think)... and Dreamweaver is published by...Macromedia? Right? Seems like it's in the same 'package deal' as Fireworks (graphics program) and some others.
