Have a client who wants me to A.I. a heifer... he also want to bring her to me and observe.. then take her home right after i do it.. what are your thoughts>>?? not sure that is the way to go/ this will be about a 100 mile trip

when you inseminate and are planning on doing a second one in a few hours on a natural heat when do you give the injection of GnRH?? or do you give one at each insemination....example heifer goes in heat at 6 am.... you inseminate her at that time with the plan on a follow up 6+ hours later when...

Due to the fact most of my clients have small herds 1 to 5 animals i use the 7 day TAI protocol with moderate success 60 65% Most do not have a set schedule for calving they just want calves so I make every attempt to catch them in heat as opposed to the exact hour called for in the protocol...

GnRH is inexpensive so why not give her a jump start????

My guess is that since all went so well in the beginning she will stick,,,,had you went thru with problems finding and inserting the straw etc I would be concerned...Keep us informned what happens.

I do both.... I like natural if possible but that is not always easy... I also let some folks bring their cows to me and pay yardage so i can actually catch them going into heat.....I try to be accomidating to those who need my service without being out of range price wise

I get about 75% of new referrals from my Select Sires and Accelerated Genetics semen suppliers. as most do not want to mess with less than a large herd.... I got into doing the tech work to help the small folks that do not have a big herd to work up and do not want to have a bull around for...
