    What was your first tractor?

My first tractor was a 1963 Massey Ferguson Super 90, I bought it in 1976. I went to get it in Ohio with my Mom as I was driving with a learners permit.

Hydraulic drive hay-bine. Any one run one?

I saw your post on the 499 and was wondering how it turned out for you. The 499 haybines have been turning up often for sale and some of them are in pretty good shape. I bought one that i used last year but it had problems in thick hay and I have been wanting to have the pump checked but haven't...

    How not to haul cattle!

I was just wandering if the officer is now subject to being arrested for a hate crime. The man appears to be of some foreign decent.

    After half an hour................

I have a fold up knife that takes a replaceable razor blade in the toolbox. It makes short order of removing a mess like that.

    Scale im considering

I've been watching your posts. Looking forward to seeing your final product. I was going to put a couple of bulls in the summer test but decided to use that money towards a set of scales. I was told that the Fullblood Gelbviehs in Southern Indiana don't stir much interest in the auction after...

    Massey Ferguson 1150

The massey 1150 is one of the tractors gaining in popularity, if you can believe that. When I was a boy my dad bought one new and I was so impressed at how wide the hood was. It was a good tractor for us as it was the largest HP tractor on the market for a couple of years. The engine was...

    tractor size

If you are talking 5x6 bales you should set 80 HP as a Minimum. We bought a MF 1105 2 years ago had it overhauled and did some Misc. work on the tractor and we are still under $7500.00 and I love it on our soft center 5x6 round baler. We bought a Case 1070 had it overhauled and it has new tires...

    Kubota disc mower

Our local Kubota dealer had their open house this Friday and Saturday and unveiled the Kubota hay equipment line. The disc mower sure looks a lot like the Vicon mower of old. Has there been another takeover or buyout of the old Vicon company?

    Mahindra tractors

I've yet to hear a complaint about the Mahindra tractors. My wife let me know that in 5 years she would let me think about one. That's when the youngest gets out of college.

Have you checked on the price of twine?

I was in our Rural King farm supply store this past weekend and saw 16000 twine at 52.49 a bale for a pallet they had just brought in. Is twine going up this year? I bought mine last year from my AGCO dealer for 42 and change at the start of the season. I was just wondering if I missed something.

    Mahindra tractors

We have a dealer who used to sell Oliver, then White, and now Mahindra. They have been at it going on 3 years now. They are starting to get some tractors in the area and so far they have been able to put them up against Deere, Kubota, and Ferguson. The Mahindra have sold themselves in the side...

Sweep tub worth more than what I paid for it

I was just looking for my camera yesterday. As soon as I locate it I will. I was needing to send a picture of the bulls to another Gelbvieh breeder for him to look at so it won't be any problem.

Sweep tub worth more than what I paid for it

I just worked 3 bulls this morning (vaccinated, wormed, and retagged one). I never raised my voice once. My son was coming to help but I was finishing up as he got there. They never stop saving me grief.

Pros Cons of Vicon Inline Rake

I have an older H&S V-10 rake and it is getting older but still in overall good shape. Last year an arm broke and it took a week for the part to come in. Thought about this rake as a backup but no nothing about this style of rake http://bloomington.craigslist.org/grd/4892500746.html . My...

    Electric tank heater

We don't work with the 2-pole GFCI breakers that much in the US but what we are going to is main breakers that are Ground Fault protected. I feel that is where we will end up. On them the setting is adjustable and are always shipped out of the factory on the architects engineered settings are on...

    Good auction here Yall

We have one a few miles away today. The kids are heading to college and I still need to buy manure to spread on the fields. I turned my head when I went by. Some men are recovering alcoholics, I have an addiction to a good auction.

    Electric tank heater

The tripping of the ground fault could be the cord or the outlet could be installed with the wiring reversed. They don't require an electrician to install but they do work when installed correctly. The National Electrical Code now requires that they be installed in all garages and barns. In most...

    Electric tank heater

I have had to butcher several cows when I was in high school after they were electrocuted on a water fountain. This was before the invention of ground fault receptacles. They are readily available and easy to install. What you will find is that they appear to be tripping for no reason, that's...
