Anyone got the Harbor Freight wire welder?

depends on what you are welding. I have used one on some pretty thick stuff. Crank the heat and have a side grinder, it works pretty well.

    trailer TAGS

In ND it is $20 a year. Not worth the run in with an officer with an attitude, so we tag all of ours. Of course we also put thousands of miles a year and go to many states and Canada delivering breeding stock or taking cattle to NWSS and other shows.

I can't take it any more!

up here it I would say it is a toss up between Ford and Dodge for work trucks. The "AAA farmers" all drive GM 1/2 ton grocery getters, most of them Denali's. I saw a Cadilac Escalade pulling a header trailer this summer, wife must have needed the "truck" to haul something to the lake house.

    John Deere 4020

a picture would help. Most loaders have a standard mount width (distance between pins), or quick attach. The bucket width is up to you, as for your needs. Unless it is completely homemade, most aftermarket buckets or quick tach plates will fit any loader. A JD 148 or 158 work great on the...

I really need "Trailer Backing 101" Class.

if it is a 4 X 4, put it in low lock. Don't need to lock in hubs (if applicable). 4 low will let you idle and still move, no need to ride clutch. Much easier on tranny backing a loaded one also. Most automatics reverse and drive are the same speed.

Vermeer L or JD 535 Baler??

on the 535 aren't they 5 ft wide and you can adjust to whatever height you desire? Set you density lower and they will squat out of the baler like a soft core. Then you don't have runaways. :help:

Vermeer L or JD 535 Baler??

I was thinking you could just make a 5X5 bale with the 535, but the 435 but it is a 4X6 tip over type. I agree with the windrow size and shape. All rake operators need to run a baler to appreciate their job. :)

Vermeer L or JD 535 Baler??

I have operated a few JD 535s nice balers. I have only run 1 Vermeer. A friend of mine has run Vermeer for 30 years, 6 different models. He has borrowed the neighbors 535 everytime he has a breakdown with his Vermeer. He is currently looking for a good used JD 535 or newer.

Anyone have experience with 3pt wheel rake

Yes the angle of the wheels makes a difference. I like them leaning back on the topside so the fingers are lifting and moving the hay.

    IH 1086 question

The ones I have had the pleasure of driving had flow adjustments on the front of the console near the floor.

Hauling weight on a 3 point

Bumper hitch or gooseneck? A gooseneck might put more weight on tractor, resulting in a "light" front end, but loader will help that out. Depending on position of 3 poit when in transport, swaying could be issue, unless you can adjust or limit sway blocks. We pull a 32 ft gooseneck with 19...

    What is this thing ?

It is an old clipper fanning mill, or an air screen. It was used to clean grain. Still can be in small amounts. Uses a screen to get rid of large FM and a fan to blow air through product to get rid of light FM.

    Information on JD 4630's ??

I have heard you can get an external gear reduction box (made) to slide over the 1000 with a 540 out the bottom. Not sure how durable. I have the same PTO issue with my 4620.

Tractor Engine Noise on start up ?

In the winter, I use the Synthetic Lucas, flows much better in cold temps. I use Lucas in most everything, transmissions, differentials. I was always skeptical of additives, but all the Lucas products I have tried work great.

Tractor Engine Noise on start up ?

I like to use Lucas brand additive in my old tired engines. It prevents "dry" start ups.

    Diesel 911

sounds like you had injector issues, and the 911 cleaned it out. I agree the stuff works.
