I have sold 3 steers for beef in the last month. I sold them all for $2.00 per pound hanging weight and they pay all butcher fees. If I have to sale them any cheaper then that I will just eat them myself. I am not feeding them every day and hauling to the butcher for a loss. They are worth it or...

Hard to tell in the pics. I would think 1600 guess is a little heavy. Nice cow none the less. I also notice the hair is light from the knee caps down just like mine. Do you know what she is cross with?

Thank you all.Dun that is why I asked the question about how much I should be feeding this calf. If you read my first post I stated I didnt want to end up with a pot bellied calf and I was told by a friend hay would do that to a calf that size if overfed on hay. LOL "flicker" must be a local term here lol. I should have used a better term but it didnt even occur to me. When I say flicker I mean when you cut a bale open it parts in approx 10 sections or so we call each one a flicker.

I brought home a 250 pound angus heifer calf this weekend. I was wondering if you guys would give me advice on what I should be feeding it. The 3 days I have had it I have been giving it 1/2 cofee can of 12% stock feed per day and 1 flicker of hay. I hate to end up with a pot bellied calf so...
