    August Weather?

    Here in Australia we belive in Global Warming --most of the eastern part of Australia has been in drought for the last 3 years, experiencing some of the driest months since recording started --of course, thats only about 200 years here. We would love to have some of your rain

    What is your favorite Breed??

    Galloway cattle --good temperment, easy calvers, finish well on grass (without too much extrenal fat) and pretty to look at, come in 3 main colours as well as a few offshoots ---and no horns, a big plus I think

    I would agree that a cow can run faster than a person. We have been in a drought here for several years and all our cows --even ones with young calves, will come when called. We handle most of ours enough that we can tag newborn calves OK without too much fuss from their mothers --though we did...

    Interesting --the more I hear about colour patterns, the more intrigued I am. I'm particularly interested in whether there are different patterns of markings from crossing with different breeds, and which generation the markings show up in --the first cross, or later generations? Anyone know???

    Can anyone give me information about color patterns that result from crossing simmentals with solid color eg black cattle. From what I have read, there seems to be different patterns of inheritance of stocking and blaze patterns
