    Weaned calves

Wow @Dave you are lucky to be getting some rain! Yesterday was 109 and we haven't had rain for weeks... Our calves really aren't gaining like they should except a few I think it is the heat.

    Show me your herd bull

This is my prospect... he is turning out super nice, this picture is a bit old. And my current herd bull: (the sire of the above bull) I feel like that picture doesn't flatter him too well. His calves' growth rates and birth weights are phenomenal.

    Joint ill

Draining it most times is the only thing that saves them from my opinion. like @Double R Ranch said... I've been so persnickety careful about this I haven't had problems for a while so I ain't the most experienced.

Ouch. Hope you recover ok. I run barrels and poles at rodeos so I've seen a lot... The risks we run for a few seconds of fun... lol We rode our 4H cows as kids... luckily we never got majorly hurt (I mean, they were 4H cows, dirt tame)

How do I get down ?

That is a funny pic! Nice looking calves. Last year was so dry we were feeding hay in June, now we can't even bale it because it is too wet.. But wow we are thankful!! Finally the river is flowing again.

percentage of sterile cows..what percent of cows are sterile? read it could be 1 out of 10

I've never had a sterile cow... We had a cow have twins and the heifer was perfectly normal and produced well for us. We banded the bull so I can't say about him.

Opinions on PJ gooseneck vs Quality gooseneck

I honestly only have experience with Exiss trailers, but they are SO worth it, mine is a 2004 and still in perfect order even with heavy use. (I show horses and raise cattle so...) This is mine: However I understand if they are simply not an option for you.
