    Cows to bull ratio

    I agree that he should be able to handle the herd since they are spread out. You should keep a bull in reserve and provide some time for recovery and extra nutrition for the growing bull. Also, you are putting all your breeding program in the responsibility of an unproven sire.

    In Finger Lakes of NY. Bought our place for $300/acre 40 years ago. Probably in excess of $5,000/acre now. Mennonite dairy farmers bidding for any land available. Good open land that is 100% tillable is $10,000/acre.

    Correlation to show of blood after heat.

    The blood, metestrus bleeding, has no correlation to ovulation or conception. It merely indicates the female recently had estrus.

    Six Exclusive calves born Spring of 2020. No structural issues noted. Excellent performance. Heifers maybe not the prettiest.

    The previous comments are on the mark. In addition, she could be a BVD PI calf with diminished immune system. It is very risky to bring a calf like this into a group. This could spell disaster.

    He looks good. It is hard to see in picture but, is he a little shallow in his heel? Especially back feet.

    Not sure if better but KT Built Tuff is a good calving ease bull with good teat and udder scores.

    I have a few calves from him this year. Definitely calving ease. Calves are somewhat fine boned and refined and look to be middle of the pack in performance. Teat and udder score epds are very good. Just mho.
