    Baldridge Colonel C251

How did that Colonel heifer turn out for you? - Did you keep her in your herd? Thanks

    Baldridge Isabel Y69 Sons

Hey we have a son of him and may use him as one of our cleanups. How's the fertility of those daughters you have? Seems like Colonel's #'s tanked as data was turned in so makes me a little skeptical... Thoughts? I know this little guy is a looker but don't want to breed late blooming heifers...

How do you call the cows

Ours sound something very similar, and it helped me one time from getting taken on a ride from the auction barn. Was actually at the sale that day and went to collect my check early since I didn't have any culls to sell late. When I looked down the list of ours sold, one of ours said it was...

    Registered cattle

@coachg Which sales barn did you send them to or see them in AL that they announced they were registered and gave the papers?

Older Bull Anyone Use Connealy Spur?

Was searching around for older (think proven) bulls for maintaining frame and adding length and ran across Older Bull Connealy Spur. Anyone use him and what was your experience? Any other proven bulls out there that would add body length, but not get too tall/narrow? What have you used with...

    Vitaferm vs Western?

Vitafirm believer too, but the local feed store is starting to think too highly of their product. Went from 45 a bag to 61! Called around a 60mi radius and either the mapped out suppliers on Vitafirm website don't really carry it or they price it so high it doesn't pencil. - We are big enough to...

    Buying embryos

Which breed? - I can only speak to Angus. Started down that road seven years ago and learned a lot along the way. I don't even look at embryo's unless they are from a proven cow (older cow, calving on time with many offspring to show) from a proven cow family that's been a proven successful...

Out the door pounds from processor?

Been reading around some and trying to figure out what an average take home weight would be for a bone out package for a live steer wt around 1260#'s? What percentage or poundage should i be targeting? Trying to do some figuring before I go to processor. What's ya'lls experience?

    Safeguard Cubes Taste Bad??

Used them as a backup on the second farm with bad facilities. Same results. Had to quarantine off a few at a time and mix it with sweet feed to even get them to take it. Some flat refused. By the time I was done, figured I'd been better off just hauling them to other farm and deworming them...

    Stock Investments

Also ETFs do better in taxable accounts/environments than Mutual Funds. I don't like year-end surprises, but you should make sure they are really liquid (trade large amount of shares daily) and always set limit orders when purchasing. A sample of good websites for etf learning are etf.com and of...

    Stock Investments

SCHD is a good one. So far so good since 2017. Found that jewel and held it. Seems to be holding up better in this downturn than I thought. Good solid investment if your not looking for flashy.

Gizmon, Coleman Resolve 7219. Have you had calves yet by him Coleman? I really like his pedigree and wanted to see if anyone has experience with him yet?

A peek. What the buyers don't like.

Interesting. I knew about the pink noses, long tails, narrow bodied and short... in my area you have to add anything non-black or has a little ear to the list. Just about anything they can dock you for, they will.

    I'm out

I get so mad now when I get those cards for trying to buy land. Most land now is unfortunately unattainable for the younger generation, being developed and "investors" and LLCs keep buying up everything...times sure are changing

Selling out. What should I ask for this trailer?

Don't blame you. Hour commute is a haul if you got cattle to feed on eve in winter etc. I'd look on some on the local sites to see what others are asking but I'd say certainly say at least 6k. Looks in good condition and good floors matter. You selling your hay equipment too?

    Sick Calf ASAP Please

In addition to what you are doing, also ask your vet about mulitmin 90 and also ADE. We give it to sick calves if we have to do an antibiotic. It helps perk them up and get their immune system back on track. How's the calf doing now?
