Hi guys I'm new to the feed mixing and I would like some input..I have corn , wheat, dry distillers, and 12% mixed grass hay..any ideas on ration? It is for calves weighing around 200 lbs still on the cow.
Thanks.
Over time I have learned to pair them with a calf ( even if it's older) they seem to Mimic others and will learn to eat grain more quickly ... If possible I always pair a newbie ( if not sick) with a more experienced calf ..
We have around 250 cAlves every year so if I can gain a little weight here and there it will make a big difference .. We have recently purchased a set of scales and I think it will help me figure it out.. I am curious to see if feeding my month old calves will be worth the expense .. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the reply .. I am in aw missouri.. I feel like our 205 day weaning weight is a little lower than it should be (400#) .. These cattle get only the feed Mother Nature provides.. I am trying to figure out what direction I need to go.. Thanks again
