    Anyone got experience of a cow that knocks down fence posts?

    You might try hi-tensile electric fences. They are hard to break and tight enough that one post down wont lay on the ground and short out. All mine are hi-tensile and I almost never have to fix fence. As for the cow, the butcher might be a cheaper option if you don't want to redo your fences.

    Clearing brushy areas--need herbicide recommendations

    Some people use cattle to eat the weeds. They can be taught to eat stuff you would never image a cow would eat. Once they learn, they keep the weeds in check, even brush and thorny plants. Save a lot of money on herbicides. I taught mine to eat wormwood and it worked really well...

    Rotate hay bale feeding areas?

    They did a study up in Canada and found that feeding in the pasture and moving it every year really improved the quality of the pasture. They only fed in the pasture when the ground was frozen so the cows didn't chew it up too badly.

    Longhorn bull on angus cows.

    Longhorn cattle can put on weight even on extremely poor range, but don't put on as much as Angus with good range. The only time you should consider crossing the two is if you have poor quality range and you want to get better gains on your cattle. If you have poor range, Angus don't do well...
