    Pic for Dun

I've always wanted to go to one of these competitions but I've never heard of one out on the west coast. Do the Chianinas just flat outpull the other breeds or are there other considerations? It always seemed like a shorter, yet still stocky, breed would have a better advantage.

    Frog Gigging

When I was a kid we always just used a strong stick with fishing line, a hook and something red(usually cellophane) on the hook. Frogs could resist that red floating out there. They'd latch on almost every time.

    Hay barn Capacity

Small square bales of the size 14"x18"x38"(HxWxL) can be cross stacked to create 112"x38"x38" stacks at 16 bales per stack. 112" is as high as you could go with a 10' ceiling. At those dimensions you could go 4 stacks wide and 15 stacks deep into the barn for a total of 60 stacks at 16 bales...

    can I see

Actually, according to Einstein, if you were able to achieve the speed of light, you would become pure energy. So you wouldn't exist in your current state anymore.

    Anybody elses dog do this?

We used to have a German Shephard that would walk behind the cow with his mouth gaping open waiting for it to drop and then catch it in mid-air. Nasty.

    Gentlest Bull

I always trust that there is someone around in every community that can be trusted to be a smarty about things like someone using the word trust or trusted multiple times in a post wondering why everyone is talking about bull trust in a thread asking for what everyone's most gentle bull was...

    Gentlest Bull

Geez, how did this turn into a don't trust any bull thread. No one said you had to trust a bull, it was just asked what was the most gentle bull you've ever had. The most gentle bull we ever had was a hereford. He'd come up to you just to get you to scratch him and you could ride him as well...

    show heifer prospects

Thanks Texan, there seemed to be alot of people jumping on txag's bandwagon so it was basically aimed at anyone on that wagon. I did mean it as a sincere question and I don't feel I was raised to keep my nose out of other people's business any less than Texas folk. And by no means was I...

    show heifer prospects

This is an interesting topic for someone like myself who has grown up with crossbreeds but is now looking to get into starting a registered program. It's defenitely a little disheartening though to see how upset people get at each other over how much of their own money they spend on their...

    Thorn Trees

    1. You could always cut them down, drill large, deep holes in the stump and pour salt down the holes. 2. Or if you'd like to get rid of the stumps but don't want to pull them out you could cut down the trees and rent a stump grinder. The stump will be turned into sawdust which will mulch over...
