    Cow is 8 years old at present. Previous calf, a 2 yr old heifer, is exceptional. Both cow and heifer due to calve in November. Given your description I'll be watching to see if her next calf follows the pattern. If so, she'll be taking a trip down to the sale barn.

    BLIND HEIFER

    Had it bad last summer here... I think we sewed eyes shut on at least half the herd. Only lost one heifer calf that we couldn't catch. Everything else healed up although some have some scarring. Vaccinated for it this year and didn't have a single case but I know a lot of cattlemen that did.

    Midget probably isn't the correct term to use to describe a calf I just took to the sale barn last week but I don't know how else to describe him. He never seemed to gain any stature but his belly was always looked full. I wormed him at the correct intervals. Calves born about the same time...
