Animal used to protect you herd
I have a neighbor that uses emus. He backgrounds 2-3000 head a year and claims that they do a good job. I don't know how they would work in a cold climate.

I prefer Shorthorns, my family has been raising them for almost 100 years An Angus-Shorthorn cross is a good cow and is hard to beat at the feedlot :D
