    Momma rejected calf

I would really like to hear what i could have done wrong. I didn't realize there was a mistake in setting them in pasture and expecting them to do what was natural. Pretty much common sense that people would get rid of their bad cows at a higher price rather than butchering them. Just seems...

    Momma rejected calf

I think your right about the sale barn. I planned on running them all back in October anyway. I bought all three (bred back with calves on the side) at the same sale barn and all three had some type of problems (mastitis, crazy cow, bad momma, all three calved though). I was always told thats...

    Momma rejected calf

I was lucky or unlucky and happened to be on top of it. I would say 18 hours went before i could tell she rejected it (was able to give it a colostrum solution at about that time). She (cow) was playing a game and she called it but this was after beating it away for an hour . When i pinned...

    Clearing land

I hear you granny but why in the heck are they so high? All i hear around these parts are "registered", high quality blah blah blah. I really don't know what kind of maintenance is needed other than a good fence but they seem to be a little high for something that doesn't do nothing but eat...

Planted millet. Now I'm in trouble I think.

I appreciate all your advice and i'll try to get you some pics. I'm in the process now. It seems to be like cracking a vault would be easier but in the process. The jury is still out on your buddy ga. prime. I don't like smart 4sses and have no room for people that think they're dropped from...

What to do with poachers ??

Kids being kids. Tell them if they want to hunt you have no problem as long as they respect you and your property and any livestock. I would also suggest they do some work to have hunting privileges. Who knows you might change a young mans life for the good.

Planted millet. Now I'm in trouble I think.

Well its 3 bred cows with calves on the side but two have dropped so I have a total of 8 and hopefully 9 very soon. On top of that I have 2 miniature horses a lama and a goat:) The millet will not be the only thing they have in front of them but it'll be the best. I just wanted to give it a...

    Clearing land

Thanks, Yes terraces are still visual but need some work. I haven't totally stripped it, I have just now began to mow the thickets and brush but i suppose i should plant something in its place. I just figured it would be better to let these die out and decompose because of all the wood...
