    3/4 Ton Truck Recommendation

I’ve got a’22 ford 7.3 gas. Been pleased with it so far. Got 21k on it. Over half of that is towing. Avg about 8 mpg according to the dash. Biggest complaint I have is that it is the spinning-est truck I’ve ever had. I think it’s just too light in the back end. But overall I am very happy with it

    Hay cutting time !

I’ve always heard 3-5 weeks. But that’s just hearsay. I know of one barn that burned a few years ago that was 8 weeks post baling, but I know for fact the hay was probably 70% red clover

    Clipping pastures

I typically set mine so that it just “tips” the tops of clover or blades. Set it higher and hope for the best in the rocky fields!

    John Deere baler pressure gauge

Me too. But on a positive note, you get to go see mother Deere!

    John Deere baler pressure gauge

Yes, it’s possible the gauge could go bad. Does the needle move any? One thing to try, if possible, if your tractor has multiple hydraulic remotes, swap remotes next time you bale. On mine, I was having trouble with the pressure not increasing as a bale was being made. Turned out, one of my...

    Ford 3600 lift arms

    Ford 3600 lift arms

No problem. If you’d happen to need any measurements, I’d be glad to take some for you. Good luck.

    Ornery bull

I was hoping that would be the case. Yeah. He just got turned in to 22 heifers on May 23rd. Hopefully that’ll keep him occupied for a couple months. We’ve had easily over 100 bulls over the years, but this is the contrary-est one I can ever remember. I’ve got his replacement coming, but he won’t...

    Ford 3600 lift arms

Look for a farmhand 22 loader. Was also sold as a Dunham-lehr 22. Usually sell very affordable. I’ve got one on a 4000su and one on a 4600su. Handle 5’x6’ bales regularly. Worst thing is getting different buckets for it. Usually need a fab shop to adapt the brackets.

    5610 Hydraulics

Abingdon equipment or CL tractor in dandridge. I’ve got a 7600 with only one actual set of remotes. I bought a splitter valve. I think mine is from summit hydraulics. It just hooks into my factory remotes and it gives me another set. It has a diverter valve on it that I can easily turn from...

    Ornery bull

So, I’ve got a 2 1/2 year old balancer bull. He’s an overall good bull, very gentle, easy to handle, etc. However, he’s getting more and more ornery. He turns mineral feeders over, knocks feed troughs around, bangs into gates, the other day he just up and head butted my truck for no reason. Do...

    Hay cutting time !

This was my day today. Hit it lucky this week. Mower mowed. Tedder tedded. Rake raked. And the baler baled. Must mean I’m in for trouble next time…..

    ATV

If it is RA, be thankful it’s not started until later in his life. My dad got it when he was in his early 50s. He’s now 77. He’s been a patient of the best rheumatologist in the southeast for many years and had every medication possible. They finally told him about 2 years ago that he was “end...

    Third bunch

I am in awe and very impressed with your efficiency. Y’all have obviously got a good routine figured out.

    Case 495 Struggling

It almost sounds like you’ve got something binding. I would not think it is the cylinder. Does the baler use shear bolts instead of a slip clutch? I’m not real familiar with the small balers, but I’ve been around Deere balers for over 30 years. How much of a slope will keep it from latching?

    Pasture Pet Peeves

Very nice subdivisions. Not a single house sold under $700,000. Most were closer to $1million. One of the subdivisions is actually on part of our original farm- the part my aunt inherited/sold. 1/2acre lots started at $65,000. Most bought 2 or 3 lots. Crazy. And of course, since they...

    Pasture Pet Peeves

Nah. I get that much basically every month. Worse this time of year when we get more wind. Especially aggravating in the hayfields

    Pasture Pet Peeves

Mine is trash. Not the usual roadside litter, but trash that gets thrown or blown in from the subdivisions that surround me. Nothing uncommon for me and my wife to pick up a full pickup load
