I forgot to update. My buddy had to change directions suddenly and ended up selling the jersey steer. He weighed 560lbs and brought $716 bucks. Good beef calves of that weight are bringing double that!! And right off the cow no less! I'll never have another one. I knew better when I did it...

Around here there is a shortage of grazing calves. Prices are holding real steady. Come fall, I think there's gonna be another jump. And the bigger calves that have grazed all summer are going to be worth a lot as well.
