    Small Trough De-icers

My grandpa could make something from nothin. One time he built a device that would move about 3” when a cow pushed on it. He rigged it to the front of the trough and it was connected to a couple boards inside the trough. When a cow came to drink they would push on it and it would move the boards...

    Hay Analysis

Have a question about the UF hay balancer sheet. What does “months of lactation” mean. Is that how many months since giving birth or months till you wean the calf or something else?

    Auto-Max solar feeder

When you put pencil to paper it pencils out for me anyway. I have to drive 71 miles round trip to feed everyday, I only feed once a day and depending on what’s going on it may be at anytime during the day or night. I usually feed around 3-400lbs a day in rain sleet or snow. There’s wear on me...

    Auto-Max solar feeder

It holds 2.5 tons of your favorite feed and dispenses any amount you want up to 26 times a day. It’s a programmable automatic feeder that’s totally self contained. Put a couple tons in it, set it, and go about your day. The company has been building these for 15 years and they don’t know of any...

    Auto-Max solar feeder

Has anyone seen or used this feeder, looking for any input. It will be used for feeding weaned calves and backgrounding. Trying to cut my work load down and get setup for years to come when I may not be physically able to sling feed around.

    Knot on neck

I can say with almost certainly that she wasn’t vaccinated there, I give behind shoulder and it’s definitely in the wrong location for neck injection and I always work on the other side. I will stick a needle in it probably tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks for the help and I’ll let you know...

No, I usually go behind the shoulder and if I do it in the neck it wouldn’t be in that spot and she was last worked in march.

    Fly tag Experience

When you put the tags on clean up the cows with a pour on to get rid of all the flies and then the tags kinda work for a month or so. Weather is the largest variable in my experience. Last year was wet and we did pour on and tags and fly control minerals and hand spray with pump up sprayer and...

    Knot on neck

About a week ago a knot just appeared on this 3 1/2 year old heifer. It hasn’t changed any since then, no signs of puncture (snake bite) or injury, it’s hard but doesn’t seem to bother her. What do you think.
