    Bad luck keeps on coming

Regardless of the outcome I have finally gotten a @gizmom angus bull I have been drooling about. Can’t say enough about the Gilmore’s.

According to their policy coverage was for a bull. Nothing more specific for that. You can own multiple bulls and if one dies under one of the items it’s covered. Only found all this after I was denied the claim.

I kept his head for those reasons you said. I then found out this insurance company did not need proof of an exact animal. Just had to show proof of a bull. Getting a mount of him now since I didnt have to show proof of his tattoos.

Not sure I could produce sufficient evidence of anything for them to change their minds. Lack of autopsy from a third party I feel like is a loss of leverage on my part. Not that I would persuade the third party to fall into one of the 25 parameters. ;)

    Pay day

That one was a Wagyu cross so he was lacking a little muscle.

    Pay day

It was midstate stockyard in Letohatchee. I believe scale was the order that cow went over the scale. So the top one was the 662 cow to go over the scale. Last one was a black motley face.

    Rendering the fat

Are you just rendering it down in a crockpot or a regular pot? I have about 15 lbs of fat I want to render down and looking for the best way to do it.

    Summer weather predictions

I hope that’s true. Hay last year was terrible. Need a good rebound year with some good grass growth.

    Pay day

Took some steers to the sale to help pay for a new bull. Looking hard at the rest of what I got to take now with these prices.

    Thoughts on this Marbling?

From what I can tell from a picture it looks like it will be tender. Fat is flavor and looks like it will be an excellent steak. I think I would like a little more fat cap on it but that’s a personal preference.

My dads and grandfathers old farm was about 1/4 mile off the end of a small airport. Had two ultralights lose power on the approach and land in the pasture. Current farm isn’t to far from a regional airport so I see plenty or air traffic over head. Probably not a bad idea to have airplane coverage.

My backup bull I only paid $600 for it as a weenling so if he is torn apart I’m covered. 🤣

Not sure how a cow could be accidentally torn apart. The only good loophole I discovered is that if I have 5k coverage for a bull it doesn’t specify a certain bull. If I have three bulls and one gets hit by lightning or drowned it’s covered. Doesn’t matter what I paid for it.
