You could have the opposite problem; we have three large animal vet clinics within 7 miles of home. I wouldn’t call any of them if I had to. We use a vet over an hour away. He semen tests the bulls and drop ships script drugs. I do everything else.

I 100% agree. I use florfenicols for a lot of things, just hadn’t had much luck on myco. Back when we fed a lot of cattle we switched back and forth. Some years or even groups responded better to Nuflor and some Baytril. And when they didn’t work I would use A180 and Exenel in combination.

You have good luck with nuflor on Myco? Interesting. I couldn’t get any results I was happy with. I started using Advacin ( the old A180) with good response.

There is a real art to reading bunks and predicting or adjusting a ration. I feed with a TMR wagon with no scale. Old school. I know how many pounds of each ingredient my cattle are getting. But anyone else would be screwed if they had to feed for me.

They were sixty years ago. I have no desire to go back to belt buckle cattle. 1,400lb cows that raise 1,450 lb strs. That will grade high choice/ prime at 18 mos work just fine.

Well her udder is full so I’m guessing she’s nursing a calf or just weaned one. She’s probably just sucked down from working hard raising a baby. If you have a separate lot sort those thin cows off and feed them some extra. She’s just skinny from doing her job.
