Are Tattoo's free?

Best employee I ever had was covered head to toe in tats. I don't judge a book by the cover.

Plenty of tattoo covered people that are great people, just like there's plenty of clean cut folks that are as useless as tits on a bull.
This is certainly true. Of all things out there worth worrying about, other peoples tattoos are pretty low on the list.

I guess im not as much against tattoos as I am against a lot of the deadbeats I see wearing them and me knowing that they never work so we must be paying for them.

We all find a "uniform" that fits us and tells people about us. Bikers claim to be free of convention and independent, but when have you ever seen one without a dew rag and black leather?
The tats are another look, just like the piercings and plugs, the pants and exposed underwear, and the Chicano flannel shirt with only the top button done up.
I used to wear rough-out, cowboy boots with my Levis long and frayed on the bottom and dragging the floor, and my shirt tails untucked. The people I hung around with wore things similarly.
All the uniform of the people you hung with.
Tattoos are fine if you don't want to change your look, but they are too permanent for me. And the whole "pain as symbology" thing reeks of weirdness to me.

I don't know if tattoos are free or not but I almost feel out of place for not having any.

Not me, and I've never been tempted to get one. As I tell my wife "You don't put a bumper sticker on a Maserati." (One of these days that woman is going to roll her eyes so hard they will make a complete circle.)

The wife has a nurse friend, and a guy was in the hospital she said maybe a motorcycle gang member. She went to put a catheter on him and his body part was tattooed. Imagine the needle work pain there.
The nurses thought it said swan. Head nurse comes out with a big smile and says girls it's Saskatchewan

This is about tattoos and if squeamish don't read it.
There are home made signs by the road all all over this county saying "Justice for (his name). A year ago a guy disappeared and a week later his body was found floating in the Coquille river at low tide. He had been stabbed several times in the back and shot in the head, weighted down with cinder blocks tied around his ankles. Word on the street was he was a druggie. This sounded like the work of a drug cartel to me. Justice for_ _ _ _ _ _ signs everywhere on the street. Facebook, want ads, complaints that the Sheriffs don't care and aren't doing anything, etc. I read an official description of him from when he was missing. It described a tattoo on his neck that said Go _ _ _k Yourself.

It amazes me the people that follow others in the fad world. Everyone now has a total arm covered in tattoos. I see so many women covered in them now. I think, if I like a symbol or a picture that much, I would find it in a print and frame it; hang it on my wall. But on my skin? No.

As many of you already know I have a very low tolerance for lazy people and druggies that live off my taxes. Im 11 weeks in on a knee replacement and back to working 7 days a week plus trying to farm still. I will be 69 soon and it kills me to hear young people say that they can't work or can't find a job. Im retired and still work 3 part time jobs because young people wont work. Then when I see them with big tattoos and buying cigarettes and beer I go off.
@kenny thomas, it's later in the day of my Thursday so I'm getting pretty rested to go to work this weekend. I feel like I end up making my income while 'resting' during the week. I also tend to say I've got to go back to work on Monday to recover from working non-stop over the weekend.

What you said right at the end of your post struck me as funny. You had just said you work 3 part time jobs because the young people won't work, and then you said "When I see them......I go off." I instantly questioned: Go off WHERE? To find another part time job to work because you saw them again not working?

A figure of speech.
Going off in hillbilly terms usually means fussing and cussing.
And yes if I had enough time I would find another part time job but my schedule is pretty full right now.

My Grandpa used to tell me he had gotten a rooster tattooed on his chest in prison, must have been bad ink because everything faded away except it's Butthole. Then he'd lift his shirt and point to his belly button!
I tell that joke occasionally today and most always get a laugh except my wife. Don't show people your belly!🤣🤣

I can't do that because my belly button was taken away when it had several colon surgeries. My niece used to ask me if my belly button would come back when I was better.
Its not a pretty sight. Lol
