Those are some real nice bulls... How old are they on average? They have more size and maturity than many of what we have available here. Most bulls available at the bull sales here are in the 15-18 month range. If they pass their BSE they are offered in the sales. I think that they might sell bulls that are a little older in the west from what pictures I have seen and listings in bull sales. We will buy a bull and he goes in the bull lot for at least 3-6 months.... We like to get a feel for his disposition, and make sure he has settled into the way we handle the cattle.... plus we want them to have a little more age/maturity so hold on to them for a bit. Then use them 3-6 months after purchase...

The Salebarn Ethics thread had a discussion about bulls that made me think of guys like you and several of the guys in my area. It's fairly easy for someone like me to be nit picky about disposition and a few other things when buying bulls since we only buy 1 to 2 a year. I would think it gets harder to be as picky when running 30-50 bulls and buying 10-20 a year. We've got a few folks around here that I'd guess run 100 or more bulls. It's hard enough buying 2 I'd hate to know I needed to buy that many.

We bought bulls from Langford Herefords one year and he sells around 600 Hereford and Angus bulls a year. He said he has customers that call tell him sent us 20 or send us 30 a year. That would be tough on his end, wouldn't want to make that person mad.

They are all owned by one breeder. All May and June born coming twos
 
I watched 3 sell online Saturday. They must've been real good on paper too. Highest bulls I've seen sell locally!

You need to get out more. I see bull sales which average more than that. And I don't believe I have ever seen a real good bull at a cow sale.
