The girls have worked hard with their steer projects. E had reserve grand 4-H steer then stood reserve grand overall then reserve champion showman so a great night. Her sister stood second in her class ( same class as her sister) and did a great job showing her calf.

That first steer looks like it needed a little more groceries. Wow ! What a good looking steer ! Both of them .
Ella did the best she has ever done she is one excited kiddo. She had reserve grand champion commercial heifers as well on a In God We Trust sired heifer out of one of my old Angus cows. She wouldn’t have been my pick the heifer looks like a steer to me but I wasn’t the judge and I was super happy for E. Sydney had a really nice calf just not clubby but he is very complete and should grade very well.

What kind is that first one, @gizmom? Is it one y'all produced or one y'all bought for showing? It looks like the Car x Simm crosses that used to win everything in the mid-70's around here. Is Pensacola y'all's state fair? Ours was in Perry 2nd week in October. First one I haven't been to in decades, because I have to stay here with Momma.

Ella purchased the steer from John Maples in Alabama. I was proud of her she had a budget stuck to it and worked hard to get him finished. I know he had Char in him Rlla could tell you his sire but I can’t I just don’t know much about the clubby stuff. I know I put 7 straws of clubby semen in some old cows got five calves 3 heifers two out of In God We Trust and one out of another bull that I can’t remember this year we have three one In God we Trust and two Here I Am. I have no idea how to breed the heifers I will just breed them to a low birth Angus bull and see how it works out.

She did a great job picking him out, and also in fitting him out for show. I'd be proud, too! :) Did she sell him yet? Was this the last show of the year, or is there a state show left to go?

Last show she doesn’t go to many she had some help clipping Banjo but she did all the clipping of her show heifers as well as clipping her sisters calf. She is getting pretty dang good at clipping. She got him ready with minimal assistance. She sold him last night a few tears were shed for sure. When you put that many hours into a project you sure grow attached
