    Grass height for grazing

    I guess they were ready to move to the new pasture. The gate was opened to pull a trailer out and they escaped into the new pasture before the gate closed. The plan was to turn them loose on the pasture this weekend anyway.

    Starting with Longhorn

    Started with our first longhorns this past August in NJ on about 26 acres. Purchased a bred cow with a calf, bred heifer, and a half interest in a bull. Since have calved a heifer and a bull this spring. Have enjoyed all of the new experiences with raising these longhorns.

    First Longhorn Calf

    Heifer calf. She was up and walking when we got out there so maybe an hour or two old. We go our first Longhorns in August and have two cows, a steer, and a young bull that we have half interest in.
