    Dairy beef cross for showing?

Butch, I ain't saying your wrong. But you don't have to spend alot .Top calf in NE Iowa 8 counties this year was a $2,000 steer. Good families can pick out a good one and make it great. On the other hand the price of some of these steers. Calves worth $1,000 the day they leave side of their...

Has AAA always had the $xH and $xJ

I've feed crossbreds sired by every kind of beef bull out there. Very little difference in growth or how they finish in most sires. I find the ones that work the best are higher birthweight and stouter made cattle. Clubby stuff works real well on holsteins.

Has AAA always had the $xH and $xJ

Their epd says it's bad, 95% of them high beef on dairy index bulls are yearlings. Have 0 info besides genomics

Has AAA always had the $xH and $xJ

These beef on dairy index's are horse crap. Holstein's already marble, heck pure Holstein's go prime more than beef as a percentage. The long and short of these index's are big feedlots are claiming to be more sustainable feeding these crossbred calves thus getting carbon credits. Index's...

    Equipment sale off

I traded my 2012 16' Featherlite bumper hitch for a 2019 EBY Wrangler 24', 3 cuts, float front gate, front ramp. I never drove to courthouse so fast as cheap as they traded me. Couple downsizing as kids gotten older and done showing. I think it's coming larger scale soon.

Have an Owatonna 83 and International 1150. Want to use my small screen from the 83 in the 1150. Measuring quickly they appear very similar. Anyone know if it will work? Quick measurements were 20 wide and 28 long?

    Any experience with these crosses?

That's what I had growing up (Cur x Heeler) Lived to be 17, never went to the vet in his life! He would tag along coon hunting, wouldn't tree but helped kill. Would heel horses for dad in round pen on lounge line for hours. The Cur or any hound cross mellows the heeler/collie out some I feel...

When to breed? - sexed semen on natural heat.

Ok, breeding cows is not rocket science if I'm able to be good at it. My wife says I'm not good at anything. Sexed semen yes is slightly damaged in the sorting process. Breed the cow when she is in heat, when time allows. The last 12 months cows I have bred. 75% sexed female semen on these...
