    Finishing Steer questions

Hi all, We've been raising cattle for about four years and are now paying a lot of attention to finishing. We have a very small herd (2 pregnant Scottish Highland cows, 1 pregnant black angus and a steer). The steer is a cross, Panda (small bull) and black angus (cow). The steer was born on...

    CCM Drum Mower Height Adjustment

Hi guys, I'm resurrecting an old thread.... I know. But, did anyone come up with a good solution on this? I used a DM2555 (with a lift kit) for the first time today and it cuts too darn low. Right now, I'm at 2.5". I need to get it to 4-4.5". I personally didn't install the lift, so I...

Tremendous documentary. I lived in IA growing up. It was a terrible time. I also now have a lot of friends who grew up on farms in MN. I turned them on to it. Very sad and tough to watch. Thank you.

They actually did re-use arrowheads. But most often, they would need "re-worked" before using them again or re-worked into a different tool such as a scraper or awl. There is a local restaurant here that has an artifact display. On display are two projectile points embedded in bone. One is...

Totally agree. I have a BS and a MS. Neither of which I use. Granite, I have a good job and believe that the degrees helped open the door. Beyond, that, I'm not sure. Also, don't get hung up on college names. They don't matter. I do a lot of hiring. And I have never said, "Oh, this...

    Any advice

Hey Rancher, quick question for you. I too run a very intensive rotational graze like you described. I only fertilize once in the spring though. I've thought many times about doing it twice, but have been concerned about knocking down a lot of grass that is for grazing later in the rotation...

As mentioned earlier, you should really check out the Fidelity credit card. 2% on everything you buy. No gimmicks. I have it all go into a college account for my kids. Its really amazing how quick that can add up. But, as stated you have to be VERY diligent and pay off every month.

    Starting kids in 4H

I totally agree. We only do 4H projects, not a real farm. With this being said, we buy farm pigs and strive for showmanship. My oldest daughter has place Champion and Reserve Champion every year. We win it at home with lots of work. And the animals are WAY cheaper. In market class, the...
