I would be worried about coccsidosis from the chickens...have had problems with claves getting that from regular birds feces from hay

Several people around here add a little cooking oil to the feed, it seems to add a layer of fat and slicks them up nicely, or my cure is usually a little Calf-manna to the feed. good luck
