Update ... Idaman's thread still has the most hits of any at Cattle Today, over 250K and growing! The book compiled from his blog posts, Mountain Ranch at the End of the Road, has lots of pictures not in the thread. The price at Amazon is now much reduced, about five bucks. The proceeds go to...

    Can Angus have horns?

Speaking of Idaman, his thread has the most of any at Cattle Today, over 250K hits and still growing! Some readers may not know that we published a book compiled from his blog posts. You can order it at Amazon. The proceeds go to his widow. Mountain Ranch at the End of the Road The book has...

Shortly after the publication of Idaman's book, Mountain Ranch at the End of the Road, I asked early readers to give a plug here at this board. When, for the most part, those comments did not appear (thanks, and a shout out to a couple of exceptions: True Grit Farms and JMJ Farms) I was...

    You can order Idaman's book

The Idaman thread just keeps growing, pushing toward 200K hits now, eight years after he went to his reward! He would be so pleased. If you've never read that thread, or not in a long time, you may not be aware that his posts are now available in book form Your can order from the publisher...

Anyone who has ordered and read Tom's book, if you want to put a plug here to encourage others to buy, that would be great. It would be a fitting tribute to Idaman. The proceeds go to Idaman's family. Some may feel "now that I've read the blog, why do I need to read the book?" One answer: the...

Yes, I got my copies today, too! I hope everyone enjoys the book. By the way, True Grit Farms, your avatar photo reminds me of one of my favorite stories about Idaman. He said he always ordered his steaks blueline rare. On a cattlemen's blog, this may be a familiar term, but just in case …...

I think it originally showed an earlier release date that was later moved back to allow for another review (which did not materialize), but yes, it has showed Mar 25 for some time now. The publisher confirmed that date to me just a few days ago, so your orders should be shipping very soon now...

It occurs to me to mention that the book does have lots of pictures, but it does not include a lot of Idaman's pictures of individual specimens. Such pictures were a big part of Idaman's posts and I'm not sure what happened to them. Didn't want to raise expectations about those pictures only to...

Earlier today I received word from the publisher that we are anticipating a March 1 release. You can pre-order now at https://www.hancockhouse.com/products/mountain-ranch-at-the-end-of-the-road. As we get some reviews they will show up there, but I reckon the readers of this blog don't need...

We need your help to maximize the impact of the Idaman book release. The publisher (Hancock House in BC, Canada) needs a few reviews from people in the cattle and ranching industry. It would especially be helpful to have one or more reviews from people who have name recognition in those circles...
