    Is this a good deal?

The cow is 5 years old, never had any problems calving. She is a Char. and so was the bull she was bred too. She is in really good shape. Great udder, and she raises her calves very well. He showed me pictures of her and her other calves. They were very nice lookin' calves. La Donna :hat:

    Is this a good deal?

I know a guy who is willing to sell me this Cow for $1300, but she cows with a 6 month old heifer, and she is bred back to the second period. As I am just starting out with cows, I would like to know if this is a good deal. La Donna :hat:

We had a cow just like that, we could tell that she was in a lot of pain. She was very old, so we just "put her down" as my dad always told us. I hope you can get your fixed. La Donna :hat:

    Gentlest Bull

I go to the Missouri State Fair every year, it is only about 30 miles from my home. One person who exhibits a bull there has the gentlest bull. It is a Beefalo (?sp?). You can ride him, pet him, and lay beside him. This bull is very gentle, he has been that way since birth, or at least that...

    Bottle Calves?

We have an old Jersey cow, she is about 5 years old, tame as can be. We wait until she has a calf, and then we buy two more calves to put on her, she takes all 3. She raises them up and does a damn good job at it. This makes us quite a bit of money. She was only a $500 cow (3rd period) in...

    Load, unload, stack hay price

My 19 year old brohter hauls square bales for 4 of our neighbors, and he says that they pay him $0.10 a bale or $12 an hour. It comes out to about the some amount either way you pay them. Hope this helps! La Donna :hat:

    Lump from LA200

my suggestion is to rub the spot that you give the shot at. We do and we have never had a lump, my neighbor has a dairy barn, and he said that the vet told him he should rub the spot they gave a shot at. La Donna Thierfelder

    Bottle Calves?

I know around our area, almost all bottle calves sell for over $100. We raise them, and we make money. It takes a lot of time and effort. If you can keep them alive, they are worth it. La Donna :D

Best Way To Build Your Herd?

I know that when I was younger, my father tried to retain his heifers, and it didn't work out as well as we thought it would. We lost money the next year because we didn't have the extra calves to sell because our heifers couldn't be breed yet. So I would suggest that you sell your calves...
