    calf question

How old is the calf? Do you give him hay? You might mix some milk replacer with sweet feed and see if he will eat it.

    How much gain???

I use them in the summer to keep my cows interested in following me into the pen for gathering. I usually do it once every other week. They hear my truck or 4 wheeler and they come to see me. Also saves time so I don't have to hunt them down.

From there I put 52" 4ga cattle panels. Seems to work good. I haven't had any of them test the fence but I did have a...

    Buying cows from a salebarn

I am looking to add to my fall cow herd and I was wondering if there is a disadvantage to buying from a salebarn vs. off the farm? Also, what questions should I be asking when looking at cows at the salebarn or farm either one?
