    Connealy In Sure 8524

Sorry Farmgirl, I didn't read the little side note on him with the DDC, not sure exactly what will become of that trait anyways. The main reason I asked the question was to see if you were marketing to seedstock producers or if you were running a commercial herd. I assume out your way people...

    Connealy In Sure 8524

Hey Farmgirl, I am going to make a suggestion and you can take it however you want. If you are only looking to make average growing animals and drop the BW then by all means go with In Sure. If not go to the GENEX website and look at their sire listings. They have a few animals that have...

    pen hookers

Just going to chime in here. Tennessee has a lot of pen hookers. Depending on what you take to the sale sometimes its better to sell to them, if the animal isn't producing or what not. Maybe its got a bum leg, or just won't breed. If the animal is good and I know this I don't stop by the...

    Which bull to order

I personally like the genetics that Chisum throws into the mix, i.e. EPD spread. He leaves a little to be desired in looks but thats just my opinion. Depending on look of calf you will probably do ok with either. From the few calves I have seen Pioneer is trowing some nice babies as well.

    Connealy In Sure 8524

Never used him but to me he looks a little short coupled, that is from images though. If you have some longer calves he will definitely drop that BW for ya. But the real question that I should ask before suggesting anything is what kinda market are you trying to hit?

    Some of our Replacement Heifers

Them were some nice crossbred piglets. Good eating there.

Take a look at my girls

Very very few. Calhoun I sent ya an email. Perfect is a relative term anyways. What one person see's as perfect is not what someone else will see.

    Angus Genetic Condition Update

Lucky is correct and if you look back on his mothers pedigree you see Rito 9J9 who was a carrier of AM so his mother was a carrier even if she had never been tested.

    Angus Genetic Condition Update

Thank you for posting this. I hadn't seen where the AAA had started allowing carrier females to be registered again. I knew back a couple of years ago they tried to get rid of the gene entirely by not allowing animals(females) to be registered if they were carriers.

    BW in Angus breed

I think I am in the same boat as most of you. bse you are definitely right about the "calving ease" bulls will definitely outsell the moderate ones. I tend to not be as worried about it myself I like to focus more on yearly and weaning weight myself. Sure I want small calves as birth...

One of the biggest cows I've ever seen

I agree with insurman on this one. Bet they can burn through some hay and grain.

    BW in Angus breed

Ok I see people all the time selling animals on craigslist or in sale catalogs that they call calving ease bulls, heifer bulls, etc.. My question is to fellow Angus breeders is what do you consider a heifer/calving ease bull (Its kinda an oxymoron since angus have small calves anyways)? And...

    Wehrmann's sale

Don't know about it being a dispersal but from the pictures they put in the cataloge they should have picked the parents to use as pictures instead of the animal. All looked very post-legged and just really poorly balanced. Maybe I am wrong but thats just my opinion. But I don't think it will...

    AI bulls

Howdy Calhoun, I am just going to sent you the link to the location so you can read about it. Honestly I see it as just another way genetic companies can make a little more money but take a look at it. http://www.angus.org/Pub/DD/DDInfo.aspx Is just a simple recessive genetic condition...

    AI bulls

Just on a side note. If you are a registered herd now, you are going to want to get that bull tested for DD. I have like half my herd that I need to test since that came out but I will wait a while to see which animals come back as carriers and which don't. I know they found that the...
