Advance Notice:
Last year's event, down in Liberty was a good one and I enjoyed it a lot & met lots of good folks.
This years South East Tex beef Symposium, a collaboration of Chambers, Hardin, Jefferson, Liberty, Orange, San Jacinto and Tyler Counties will be held In the Winnie area on Oct 28 at the Winnie/Stowell Community center. The Trade Show and vendors booths should run most of the day if like past years' symposiums. I believe this is right off Gulfway Dr (highway 124), on Park St--same place the Rice Festival is held.

The itinerary is not quite set yet, but there will be a trade show, and they will be bringing back the hay show and hay judging, as well as guest speakers on a number of beef cattle related topics. If you are in the SE Tex area, it is my understanding, you can submit a sample of hay for testing, but check with the Jefferson County Agrilife Agent in a few days for confirmation of this as well as details.
Tentatively, the earlier part of the day will be geared toward 4H/FFA youth with the speakers and more adult portion beginning at 4-pm and finishing up around 9pm. In coming days, you can check the following website for more detailed information: Contact: (email addy and Ph # are listed there) There is a $20 registration fee, but well worth every penny IMO.
