Went down tonight to check on a fence line with a bunch of dead locust trees along it after some strong winds today. Got some pictures of some of the younger calves. Some of them were really running and playing. The little one in front of the black cow is 3 days old. It's literally a running joke in that as soon as the cow thinks we see the calf she moves it. Had originally planned on waiting till around the last week of May to put the bull in with cows, but went in and did it yesterday. Let him of the trailer and out of the barn and he took off running down the hill toward the cows bellering all the way.D03BA3F2-3CA2-4B66-876C-FC19050CAFAF.jpeg69CA73AF-0CD2-4C42-8074-268ADC981559.jpeg76E8B893-070E-40A8-82EA-68C300BB26E4.jpeg18F0B4E7-5AEA-4918-9399-36850E30F4B2.jpeg8C1009A0-D1B6-4DE8-8DBA-EB64D5F7F596.jpeg3CA94427-ACF2-4126-9380-8E829239A2E3.jpeg

It's illegal to post pictures of a bull without the story behind him. He looks good. I assume he's home raised? Seems like we may have heard about him on another post, but my memory isn't the best.

He is a rare white faced Angus. 😂 He is home raised 75% Angus, 25% Hereford. Used him later in the season last year, so only have a few calves by him so far. To this point all are black and his calves are consistent with what an Angus would have, solid black from black cows and BWF from Herefords.

Now if he was a horned white face angus you'd have the jackpot!

The last Hereford bull we bought threw too many horned calves among other issues that's why this fellow took his place and speeded up a doubling down on a new direction for our herd
