has anyone used wheat screenings to sow pastures...if so how much per acre and how did it do?.....im in middle tn.............thank you

Screenings to me would indicate chaff, broken and undersized grain with a lot of weed seed. I would look for a better alternative.

Is this bare ground? Will it be tilled to provide good soil contact?

Wheat screenings here usually includes common rye grass along with the wheat trash. Low cost and generally broadcast since it tends to plug a drill. Low cost since the elevators want to get rid of it. Some feed it to hogs. No guarantee on quality or germination. If you are happy with rye grass, it might work for you. As far as rate, depends on how much seed and how much trash is in the mix.
