Bull? Heifer? What are it's pronouns?Tada!!
She was taking wayyyyyy too long. After about an hour of me watching her shove the calfs feet out repeatedly and giving up, I finally dumped some cubes and went to work.

I saw that!Well done, @MurraysMutts!
BTW I saw there was 5 baby calves at the Winfield sale last Wednesday. Don't know how they did but bet it was $$$.
I'll be up early to get started.Keep us posted! Just Brough home a graft calf for our gal who is going to calve any day.
Strapping good heifer! That looks like a good calf...
Well, since it's a match, you can take off THE STICKER! And give her a proper name.Breakfast time!

Very little effort required. Feed the cow. Release the calf from the trailer. Straight to the teat!
Love it!
I was just about to type, TAKE OFF THE STICKER.Well, since it's a match, you can take off THE STICKER! And give her a proper name.
Gotta ask... too much work to graft calves? Seems like a lot of management involved.I never did take that sticker off.....
Look at Dapples babies! All grown up and ready to wean.

Not gonna go into great detail, but after hauling Dapples and her 2 big calves to seperate and graft the new heifer, it was a disaster. Cow didn't want her. And heifer didn't want the cow! Unfortunately I don't have the time or the place to do what's needed to make things work.
After the ordeal was all over, I took Dapples and her 2 big calves back to the lease place and gave the new heifer a bottle.
Long story, but Dapples and Bessie may need a new home this fall
Just say "when", and I will come get Bessie!!! And bring you two solid black, 18 mos old Corr heifers 2 months bred to a reg Salacoa Valley Brangus bull. In 7 mos you will have 2 calves, and 6 mos later they will bring you $1200-$1500 each, depending on whether they are bull or heifer calves.Long story, but Dapples and Bessie may need a new home this fall
