I have a group of 8 angus steers and 15 heifers. They weigh around 7-900#. Currently they are being hand fed about 10.5 of mostly corn with Hubbard protein pellet and they have access to grass hay and some alfalfa for about 3-4 hours a day. They are gaining good and clean up any corn I put in front of them. I was planning to sell them in July but I'm thinking now I should just finish them out with a self feeder once I get them on full feed.
I've talked to a few guys and one guy used accuration. My feed guy is pushing a different one. I need to ask prices but I know accuration isn't cheap and the one the feed guy is pushing I'm guessing is similar to accuration. I have quite a bit of available corn to use for finishing them so just looking for a cost effective way to use corn and a by product in a self feeder if there is one.
