I have medicare and am happy with it. My wife is 62 and retired on 1-1-14. She has preexisting conditions and if not for OC, could not find H/ ins. The OC that she bought has great coverages, with low deductibles and copay,,,much better than the policy that she had as a Missouri teacher. Subsidy,,,I filled out the app back when the site was all screwed up and made a mistake on our income. I only counted the taxable retirement income, not Soc. sec and based on that income our premium was $94 per month. Two people filing jointly with less than $64.000 house whole income will get a subsidy i.e. lower premium. two people with $27,000 house whole income will pay $94. Two people with income above $64,000 will pay $650. I am not an expert and all of the above info is based on my situation of "two" person house whole and insurance coverage for "one" person. The subsidy is based on a sliding scale of income. I know that all situations are different but for us we love her Obama care insurance. My four children have HI through their work and I have not heard complaints from them. My opinion about the controversies involving Obama care and most other political issues on the news is fired by the self serving extremist, both left and right. I've spent most of my life as a business owner or contractor and learned that there are very few things that are black or white. I consider the success of about everything from business to my 45 year marriage is based on compromise.
