grass heading out

Help Support CattleToday:

Yep, been doing that a while now here. Not looking good for leaf growth. I'm going to start bush hogging some of it to see if it will take off again. We had the same issues last year, maybe a little worse than this year.

The Fescue I planted a few years ago has headed out and browning. Interesting on the weather. Like most folks we are getting rain once a week so if one had a mind set to bale it would ruin. I fretted most every spring but this year it's kick back and enjoy the weather. Plan was to revitalize this pasture with Fescue and it is doing a marvelous job of growing seeds that will accomplish that goal. Even if I have to give away the crop this year, it will certainly be a good year for my hay patch.

I'm spraying escort today. Some of our fescue is 3" tall and starting to head out. Lots of rain in the forecast, so I'm hoping the escort won't set it back too much

Bluegrass is the first to head out here.....it looks like fescue sort of but a litle smaller and finer. Fescue and orchard grass is starting to head out here and there.

some grass is about a foot here, some is 1/2...

no sun is making almost no growth.. cows are ready to break out

What part of KY are you in, banjo?
