A few years ago we had 8" of snow on May 20. But that was already a wet spring and it came straight down, not a blizzard. We are at 4800-5000' here, which is low for a lot of Wyoming. Today is a hot wind at 80* and the smooth brome in the old CRP is starting to throw seed heads at 5" tall. Native grasses are going to punt and bolt seed heads real soon if we don't get a decent rain. Last year was bonus rain. Glad we left a bunch of well managed old grass.
