Banded 4/23/24

I banded this Feb 6th born male on 4/23/24 ( little over 2-1/2 months old) and tomorrow will be 3 weeks. Is there something I need to do or just wait a few more days. The banding went well and they have dried up considerably but still have not dropped off. They appear stiff when walks off from you.

Normal. The older/larger they are the longer it takes. Three weeks for a calf that age sounds perfectly normal. They'll be gone any day.

This. If I use the Tri Bander, they fall off faster than the green "cheerio" bands. But as a general rule, none fall off before a month and generally 5-6 weeks.

Tri bander with the wide 1/4" band.

 

[Brute 23]

There is a point in there where the calves are too big for the regular bander but on the smaller end for XL bander. They can take 3-4weeks. It's never given me an issue, though.

At that age, I think you hit that size.
