I turned my bull in June 3, which should be March 12 calves. I had one yesterday, a third calf cow. Heifer calf, good for a few days early normally.Due March 1st and 15 already calved?
Is that normal on Ai'ed heifers ?
I agree with you. 16-18 for British or Continental Bos Taurus. For bos indicus, better let them get to 22-24 months. I never saw why people want to get in such a hurry, anyway. Then they wonder why, if she has a live calve with no problem, heifers reject, or even try to kill their calves. Or not have milk.Somewhat depends on the breed but I use 16-18 months personally.
Those are top notch for sure! Especially like the ones with some white on em.AI'ed a group of home grown heifers due to start calving April 12th and "stole" some other partially AI'ed heifers due to start calving March 1st. Pretty happy how they are performing so far. Mothering up well which is good to see. 15 down another 18 to go. View attachment 41458
