    Poss Deadwood Confusion

For an unproven bull, in terms of genetics and what he looks like, for his level of marbling, I’m not aware of any other bulls like him. 1.90 on marbling A lot of the Angus carcass people are just rich people that made their money from other things that don’t seem to understand how to cross...

    Angus Maternal sires

A older, proven bull I like is Basin Payweight 1682. But it depends what you are breeding to. I would use a different bull on a cow with bad feat or a squatty cow. Payweight 1682’s seem to maintain their flesh better on less feed than most. There’s growth. He’s a maternal bull that makes nice...

    American Angus Association

Some people are meek and won't stand up for themselves.

    American Angus Association

Am I alone, or does it seem like the American Angus Association ringmen and auctioneers are extremely dishonest. Almost every sale I go to I see them taking non-existent bids, running up prices on people, doing things like someone trying to bid $4000, but since that person and another person bid...

    H A Image Maker

If anyone has a thick-made cow who is docile and gives less than average milk, and you want to keep daughters, this is who I would use. He is an older, more proven bull. But I would only use him on a cow who meets those qualifications. Otherwise, I would use a different bull. I believe he also...

Angus Bulls To Reduce Frame Size

I thought only God knew what was optimal, but okay.

Angus Bulls To Reduce Frame Size

Then would the optimal thing to do not have been saying something to the effect of, ‘I have concerns about some of his #’s’? Proven bulls are punished by the number system. People are punishing the commercial cattleman by choosing bulls based on numbers, yet not understanding how the numbers...

Angus Bulls To Reduce Frame Size

I would also look at Charlo’s MW. I don’t think he’s tall enough for where I live, but if you’re telling people maternal bulls are not maternal just by looking at numbers, and not actually knowing the cattle, then correcting people who have seen the cattle is not what you should be doing, in my...

Angus Bulls To Reduce Frame Size

As far as I know, EXT is also in the bottom 10% for docility? Are you going to argue he isn’t maternal? Hoover Dam doesn’t have a good HP, but yet his daughters sure seem fertile to me. As far as CEM, breed him to something with a good CED and CEM if that’s a concern. Numbers are just a tool. In...

Angus Bulls To Reduce Frame Size

I like these depending on how much you want to reduce frame. I would consider Charlo and Resource both highly maternal. I haven’t seen many Bravos, but if he comes from Coleman he’s probably maternal.

    Best Connealy bull

I’m not sure he’s the best, but I like Impression if you cross him correctly. I’d want to use him on a docile cow that needs thickened if I was planning on keeping the heifer calf, if I got one.

    Broken Bow

I like the Broken Bow cattle personally.

    Circle L Gus

Am interested on more info on this sire if anyone has any. I like his sire Chisum a lot when crossed on nice uddered cows.

Angus Sires that Fix Utter Qualities?

Of sires mentioned, I like Hoover Dam and Impression. Both make nice cows in my opinion. I don’t have experience with Bruiser. I think Hoover Dam is going to give you a better product over his son Niagra unless you are trying to breed numbers.

    Renown vs net worth

The Net Worth’s can be wild, but if I see him back in a pedigree, it’s not a dealbreaker for me. Birth weights can be on the higher side. I do think they make decent cows. I don’t have experience with Renown.

    Basin Payweight

I think Payweight is a nice bull, but I think he needs crossed correctly. I’d use him on taller cows, not short ones.

We also purchased a low BW/high growth EPD Enhance son that performed well that is a breeding season younger. Here he is:

    New Angus Herd Sire

Thanks for the input. I don’t think he’s post-legged at all, so I must need to work on my photography. Here he is on video.
