    Do Murray Grey produces rattails

I had a guy telling me that Murray greys will produce more rattails than Charolais. But I never heard of anyone gotten a rattail out of a murray grey considering they have different genes from Charolais and Simmentals.

    F1 heifer

Normally you get typical baldies out of Angus and Hereford but this calf surprised me last spring. She has every Hereford markings but her dam is all 100% Angus. Might keep her as a replacement.

    Flashy Panda Calf

Big boned panda heifer calf out of a commercial beltie cow and a Hereford bull. We called her "J" because of the markings.

    Flashy Panda

Born yesterday, I never got a calf with crazy markings before. It has no belt on other side and also white eye instead of black eye patch.

    Baldy calves

Four calves on ground so far. Two calves out of first time heifers, no birth problems. This is second crop from our Hereford bulls. I was shocked to see this guy shows up with little amount of white despite of the mom being 1/4 Hereford and the sire being full Hereford.

What terminal bull for Brahman cows?

Curious question. What is a good terminal breed to put on Brahman cows if you don't want to produce replacements? Asking for a friend.

    Baldies, baldies, baldies everywhere!

So far I've liking the cross from the hereford bulls on Angus & belties. A nice 3way cross bull calf. He should be a nice steer in the fall. Nice F1 black baldy bull. Another F1 bull A 3way cross heifer calf. She should be a nice feeder. A nice F1 red baldy heifer out of a registered red...

    Hereford vs Blk Hereford

Anyone raises or running black Hereford? I am thinking about getting a black Hereford bull but the plan is not set in the stone. I do love the calves from the red Hereford bulls but I don't realized that we have more red carriers in herd than we thought.

    First "Hereford" calf

While I was checking on the cows last Thursday, I got a pleasant surprise from a red baldy heifer. She gave me a beautiful heifer calf that resemble Hereford. Actually the calf should be almost 5/8th Hereford, 3/8th black angus and to be honest I don't know where the extra white on legs come...

    They're here!!!

Finally! Four F1 black baldy calves are on ground today. One cow had twins (m/f), and the rest are heifers. I ended up grafting the freemartin calf to a cow that lost her own calf three weeks ago. Fastest grafting I ever had. Super lively & hyper calves. I was concerned about the hybrid vigor...

What's your opinion on these Hungarian Grey cattle that's all over on Facebook? They looks like a terminal breed to me.

    Angus Heifers and Hereford bulls

I am planning on retaining three Angus heifer calves since they will be the last straight Angus calves out of our herd for awhile. However I am unsure if I should breeding them to the Hereford bulls next summer. Any experiences on this?

Is it just me or did I noticed a lot of dairy cows showed up in different pastures of the beef farmers lately? Kinda odd to see few dairy cows running with beef cows together.

Black is out, Red & White is in

Just purchased two new Hereford bulls today to put them on our commercial Angus cows. One is goggle-eyed and very slick. Another is your typical feathernecked bull. Both can be registered but we are commercial folks... Both are two years old.

    Longest bull streak....

I have never had a really long bull streak in the calving season. Out of 18 calves born this year, only two calves are heifers and we need heifers to replace the cows we're selling in fall. Just have 10 more cows to calving yet, so maybe they will give us heifers?

    Victoria cattle

Anyone still using Victoria bulls or cows? Basically 3/4 Hereford 1/4 Brahman composite. I thought they will makes great cattle with Brahman blood for cold climates.
