Bee-Balm?

The top pic is an aster and the bottom is bee balm. The aster plant I bought and the bee balm came from my mom. It's their second year and they are 10 times bigger this year. Both are perennials.

I thought that top pic was Aster, but didn't say it because of the color similarity. My eyes are not what they used to be. Excellent pics.

Saw some wild aster(a beautiful lavender) in the woods here a couple of days ago. Wish I'd photographed them. Tonight, supposed to get into mid-20's, our first freeze. Goodbye Asters.

We had an early hard frost this year in September. Then in October we had 20* nights the last couple weeks, that's hard on pumpkins! (and me)
