    Show your calf pictures.

Will this pair on bottom go out to range with the rest? She looks to have some age on her. You have quite the mix of colors in the calves, I like it.

    Production sale

I would like to write an extensive commentary on the videos, but the vertigo they induced has left me extremely nauseous and I need to go lay down now.

    The newest

Nice. That cow looks like she has a lot more years left in her. Always love the baldy calves. If you change your mind on her at weaning time message me, I’m not far away. A splash of color like her would look good at my place!

    Replacement Heifers

I’m like the others, the last two really caught my eye. Really nice.

Which Angus bull to use ?

I’m a moron, but am smart enough to know a cow/bulls back foot should cover their front foot’s tracks when walking. Why do these high dollar outfits not follow one of the basic principles of the selection process?

Best beef I ever had was a Jersey/Angus cross steer. Absolutely melt in your mouth, good marbling. Holstien/Angus was next.

If there’s a $150 dollar bottle of whiskey on this farm, it’s because someone else brought it over. Distillers Pride is top shelf around here!

    Old time champ

My cousin posted the obituary of the young man, he lived another 10-11 days after the accident.

    Old time champ

The sidebar article mentions a local shorthorn breeder who showed all over the country. He was known locally as Pop. I got to see some of his trophies and plaques one time when I was in his home, he was very successful.

    Old time champ

The young owner is still in the cattle business, but runs a pure herd of fleck style Simmental. Shorthorn was the most popular around here at that time.

    Old time champ

My 2nd cousin, the family historian, posted this on Facebook. His brother is in the article about the construction accident. The other man unfortunately died from complications. I thought the champion steer was interesting. Still under the influence of the belt buckle era.

Actually work and holidays got in the way. It wasn't a make or break, maybe next time I'll be on the ball.

It doesn't matter anyway, they sold before I could get there. Such is life.

I will subscribe to my dad’s theory. If you want to fight, stick your head up your rear and fight for air. We’re all better than this, gentlemen. Let’s be civil.

Stirring the pot on the LH/corriente topic

If I buy these cows, I’m not doing it to intentionally deceive anyone. I look at it as a lower risk investment. Let’s say I buy a cow for 400 and put a good bull on them, increase the cows value through improved genetics from the bull, sell the calf for 700 why is that dishonest? It’s like the...

I find it humorous that some of those who decry the black hide premium are upset about this issue.

I agree, I don’t want to pass along a problem cow or bull. If there’s an issue with fertility I’ll let them know, I don’t like to buy duds myself. How often have we all gotten less at the barn than what something was worth? I’ve been told every excuse in the book. Your men were right, it’s...
