    They may rationalize it by selling second calf cows for same price or more than first calf heifers and getting a "free" calf in the meantime. Seems to be the same sellers and buyers at these "special" sales every year. :2cents:

    Depends if you're in the land business or the cattle business. Buying the land and cattle on same budget can take a 20% cattle profit to less than 1% :2cents:

    I always walk through the pens before the sale when I'm buying cows to get an idea of temperament and udders. Then write down tag numbers of any of interest.

    Running age cows still look a little overvalued. I would trade a 4 wt heifer for SS breds.
