    Spring Calving vs. Fall Calving

    We calve about 30 in the fall and 30 in the spring. Our bulls stay with each group 6 months. If one gets out of sequence it gets moved to the other group or stock yard.

    The best we have done is put them in head catch and handle them wash them till they get tired of it than do the same thing the next day.The 1st time they will throw a fit but after they get use to it they are a lot easier to break.

    I calve 10 to 15 in October/ November than I calve 10/15 March/April so the bull stays with bred group and I get to chose the start of my breeding seasons .
