Any one feeding syrup now? Started trying some distillers syrup on 18 weening calves . They ate a couple hundred gallons the first week along with good hay and mineral.
If you can straight them a little each day . Another thing that helps is to make it walk and run . It will get better I have seen a few a lot worst than that one
We calve about 30 in the fall and 30 in the spring. Our bulls stay with each group 6 months. If one gets out of sequence it gets moved to the other group or stock yard.
The best we have done is put them in head catch and handle them wash them till they get tired of it than do the same thing the next day.The 1st time they will throw a fit but after they get use to it they are a lot easier to break.
I calve 10 to 15 in October/ November than I calve 10/15 March/April so the bull stays with bred group and I get to chose the start of my breeding seasons .
