    Lost a Heifer Calve today

I gave my neighbor ranchers a heads up about my calve, that is the best I can do. If you don't own them you can't loose them.

    Lost a Heifer Calve today

Last Tuesday July 28-2020 we noticed one of our calves was moving very slow with her head hung low, when she got up closer we saw that her nose was runny with thick snot, we pinned her and called the Vet. We made a 10:00 am appointment and loaded her up. Our Vet looked into her eyes and told us...

    Stiff rear leg

I have a five-year-old cow, born here on my place. She had her second calve two months ago, the birth was normal, the calve was small but up and sucking and all has been well. I put out hay last Saturday and noticed that the cow was walking stiff legged on the rear legs. She would take four or...

    Calve Nutrition

I recently separated a Cow from her Calve. The Calve is eleven months old and I know I should have separated them sooner but I was unable to do it buy myself. Anyway I have been feeding the Calve a mix of five pounds of cracked corn, five pounds of sweet feed, a cup of cotton seed meal and...

Diseases that get a Cow Culled

I agree with you Banjo, but there is a difference in culling a cow because of disposition and a disease that could spred to a unsuspecting cattlemans herd, or be eaten.

Diseases that get a Cow Culled

ga.prime, You can guess any damn thing you choose, If I had a sick cow It would see the Vet. If i knowingly owned a diseased cow I would put it down rather than inter it into a food chain that even you might eat. I have no control over any beef processing plant. You are trying to start an...

Diseases that get a Cow Culled

I guess I'ts very possible that I'am wrong but I just feel that selling a diseased cow into the food chain would'nt be the correct thing to do. I do understand that there are many greedy folks that have few morals towards their fellow man and I personally would not want to put food on my...

Diseases that get a Cow Culled

I don't think Cattlemen would sell a diseased animal to his neighbors, he would draw the X and fire.

    24D

My neighbor and good friend is a Vet. Last year ge sprayed my pastures with 24D. I ask him about holding the cattle back and he told me that 24D would not harm the cattle. I have to say that all cattle survived and calved normally.
