    Beefmaster cross

Other side but still quartering to me. Black cow is her mother. The heifer with the paint is her 5 month old 1/2 sister (i think).

    Beefmaster cross

Her mother is dog tame. My only complaint with this calf is she’s a bit skittish. Sudden movements scare her

    Beefmaster cross

This heifer is 6 months old today. Sire is beefmaster and dam is 3/4 angus 1/4 hereford. She is the 2nd calf for that cow. Is she a keeper?

    Which Breed are These Cows?

I had a longhorn that had a heifer calf marked just like a british white. That’s what got me interested in british whites.

    Which Breed are These Cows?

Crackers don’t have long horns and they are basically interchangeable with pineywood. I’m in Central Georgia and there are several registered herds within an hour of me. There are several herds in georgia, florida, alabama and mississippi that i know of and most likely more that i don’t. Two...

    Which Breed are These Cows?

I had some crackers that looked an awful lot like them. I’m going to say cracker or longhorn crosses. Put a beefmaster bull over them and i’ll buy heifers from you.

    More bull criticism

I’m not a great judge but i like him. Maybe lacking length but it could just look that way because he’s so stout.

We may all be missing the boat, by not raising Corrientes!

Just south of thomaston. I have a neighbor that runs between 2 and 300 head on strictly grass and he said it takes 2 acres per cow/calf pair. They don’t rotate pasture much, though. If somebody was doing more regenerative style rotation they might be able to do a little better.

You can run a bunch if you feed them but grass only it’s acred per head not head per acre

Here he is a few months later. Those are the heifers i wanted him to breed.

He was young in that picture. He got broad through the shoulders when he was about a year old and had ecent hindquarters for a pineywood. I bought him to breed 2 young heifers. He missed one and she ended up being bred by my hereford a few months later. I’m hoping i don’t have to pull that calf.
